Dinos Greensburg

         
 Well I am finally back after a long furlough of not posting anything about my wing experiences. Its been a bit but promise to provide you with more ideas for some great wing places to check out. We went to Dinos in Greensburg to finally try out their wing special to see what this #1 in PA wing was all about. First off I want to tell you they came as breaded wings so off the bat they are kinda cheating, what carb craving wingman or woman doesn't want breading on their wings to wash down wing more carbs.

   

  So we start with size, lets just say they were big wings maybe just a bit to big some of them may have been a bit under cooked. But for 50 cents each on Mondays and Tuesdays the size was an almost perfect 0.8. As far as sauciness goes Dinos scores a perfect 1.0. They were coated perfectly with each choice of sauce including Hot, Sweet hot, Cajun, and garlic parm. Walking in and immediately getting a great seat by the bar with numerous TV's showing almost every sport still on boring TV at the moment created a great environment to chow down on some greasy chicken. Within minutes of sitting down we were greeted and drink order was taken but one of the many services working at Dinos. Granted we were early for wing night there was plenty of servers helping customers and helping each other take care of all patrons. Our server was on point and seem genuinely happy to help us out so service gets a big 1.0. Well Dinos does have great sized wings, perfectly sauced wings, and prompt service they lacked a selection of wing flavors for the experienced wingman. They offer your typical hot and garlic type wings and leave a lot of opening for improvement on selections. Dinos come on throwing a  house flavor call it Dino-sauce or some shit, give me something ive never seen before. Selection gets a 0.5 for a boring list of wing opportunities. Lastly we get to one of all or favorites Suds. Dinos provides a great array of draft beers, with some great IPAs and your typical Frat boy and Redneck selections.  I choose a Dogfishhead 60 min IPA on draft that was superb. I would estimate 15 to 20 different drafts accompanied by a many options for bottles. Suds gets a respectful 0.8 for a great setup of taps and bottles.  
        
         Dinos gets a great score of 4.1 out a 5 which for some might be a weekly trip for some great tasting high fat treats. If you like wings near Greensburg PA , then Dinos might be on the top of your list. One step above chicken assholes, wings should be almost given away but lately 50 cents per wing seems like about normal interest rate going currently. Although we are still searching for that Holy Grail for wings to get a perfect 5.0 Dinos makes me believe it may happen and it might happen closer to home than we think.

Sidelines

Let me start off by saying when I first walked into sidelines I thought that we may have found a pretty cool place to eat wings. Well it is very true that looks can be deceiving. I don't care if sidelines was voted the best wings in Pittsburgh, which by the way not even close WPXI, but hypothetically if they were the best I would never go back solely because of the service. I have eaten a lot of places and let me tell you we could have gotten better service from a quadriplegic than we got at this place. Keeping a fat guy from his wings for an hour and forty minutes is not gonna get you any points. Service=0. I am not even gonna rate the rest. I will say there wings were a nice size and cooked well, but like the guys said all the sauces tasted very similar. I personally didn't think the sauces were as bad as they said, but there is some truth to their claims. The beer selection seemed pretty decent though I did not have any that night. I will agree with the guys that the wings did have to much sauce on them. All in all the wings weren't the worst I have ever had, but they were far from the best I have ever had as well. As for going there again I will never go there again on wing night.

Sidelines Bar and Grill

WPXI I think you may have mixed up the wings with someone else when you had this Pittsburgh's Best Wing Competition. (   http://www.wpxi.com/news/entertainment/pittsburghs-best-wings-winners/nD7f6/   ). At first glance the .25 wings at Sidelines sounds like a great deal. I mean it was voted the best wings in Pittsburgh and of course that is what we are after. Walking in is like any other normal small town local pub, small tables, big bar, lots of people. .25 wings start at 7 and there was a pens game that night. We ordered our wings at 720pm, we did not receive our wings until 850pm. I watched as other table ate even after sitting down after us. Service gets a big fat 0. Per the picture they did have a nice selection of wing flavors, after watching other people eat for an hour we asked customers about their wing flavors and found out there is another menu with better flavors that we never got to look at. Selection get a .4.  Once we watched everyone else eat and leave we finally got our wings that were the wrong order but decided to eat them anyway. The size of the wings were very good not to small and cooked just right size gets a .8. The wing sauceyness and sauce was nothing to write home about, the sauces tasted the same. I ordered buffalo ranch and spicy oriental, they both tasted like buffalo. Sidelines does have a wing called the Jamaican Jagoff which was an excellent sauce but not hot at all like they say. Also the wings were soaked in the sauce which was a bit to much, Sauceyness=.4.  Lastly suds, sidelines has a great selection of beers on tap and in bottle. I did not get much chance to drink their beers because all I could think about was if they were actually growing the chickens in the back for our wings. Suds gets a .6. Overall sidelines gets a 2.2..... Come on now WPXI Ive had better wings at Chinese buffets........Also there are no pictures of wings because by time they got to me I could give a shit about taking pictures I was starving

Sidelines Millvale PA

Unless you have an entire weekend to devote for eating wings, I would not suggest Sidelines Bar.  The service was lousy and it took over an hour and a half to get our wings.  Once we did get them, the order was wrong.  The wings themselves were over saturated w/ sauce and soggy.  It was also tough to differentiate the flavors, because they all  tasted the same.  The only thing this place had going for it, was the fact that it seemed like a cool place to drink and hang out.  WPXI rated this establishment as #1 place for wings in Pittsburgh.  As usual the news was wrong again. I give this place a 1 out of 5.

Whats Next

Check us out this Friday for our newest review we will heading to Sidelines Bar and Grill for wing night wednesday..... We heard they have some pretty good wings. We will be the judge of that. Check back Friday for our pics and Pittsburgh's Best Site for the best wings in the Burgh.........

The Library

I completey agree with wingman1 on his review of the library other than I would say that even though they might not have a huge selection of wings the ones they do have are great flavors. I personally prefer the buffalo blue or the buffalo ranch, although the new wet ranch they may be coming out with could jump in my top two just to early to tell. Either way you can't go wrong with wings at the library for $9 the all you can eat can't be beat on a Monday night. The bar offers a great atmosphere, great service, and a wonderful selection of beer. I will end by saying if you go to the library for wings you will not leave disappointed.

The Library

For our first true wing establishment rating we choose the All you can eat wings at The Library in the southside. For size the library gets a perfect 1.0. The wings were huge tons of meat and not to big were it was like eating a turkey leg. Next saucyness again 1.0 perfect just the right amount to cover the wing but you can still taste the meat. The selection at the The Library was something to work on, with only about 8 different flavors of wings it wasn't much to experiment with. The cook did give us a taste of two new wings they may put on the menu soon. One was a wet ranch excellent and the other was a play on Lousiana Lickers...no go in my book. So for selection we gave a .6. That leaves service and suds, service was a bit skewed due to the lack of customers and wingmans 2 brother waitresses at the place haha.... But we gave it a .8 for now, it was dead in there. Lastly suds, excellent choice of beers from the originals miller lite, coors, and bud all the way into some really cool local beers including my fav east end snowmelt. They have a great chalk board with draft craft beers and they know what they are all like, suds get a .8.  Overall The Library gets a big 4.2 out of 5. Very good place for wings
